CBC's Chris Walker to Speak at AGM
November 2, 2015 by CFUZ

The 2015 Annual General Meeting of the Peach City Community Radio Society will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at the Penticton Museum/Library Auditorium. Registration will be open at 5:30pm, there will be a talk at 6:00pm, and the meeting will begin at 7:00pm.

Another amazing year has come and gone for Peach City Radio, and we are once again preparing to gather the membership together for our Annual General Meeting.

This year, we have much to celebrate! Our broadcast application was approved by the CRTC, and our Board of Directors is eager to share information about our progress over the past 12 months in working to bring CFUZ and community radio closer to reality for Penticton.

In addition, we are excited to welcome Chris Walker to speak at our meeting. Chris is an award winning journalist and broadcaster, whose career began in British Columbia, and has taken him as far as Cairo, covering human rights, politics and business in Egypt and throughout the Middle East.

Chris is currently the host of Daybreak South on CBC Radio 1 from Kelowna. He is passionate about radio, and is eager to have the opportunity to speak to our membership about how community radio can have an impact in Penticton.

During the AGM portion of the evening, your Directors will present information about our work this past year, along with providing some insight into upcoming projects and initiatives in place for the next few months.
