Celebrating 100 Episodes of the Old Time Country Show
March 16, 2015 by CFUZ

Come down to the The Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Unit 97 (ANAVETS) on Friday March 20th for a 100th show listening party. The episode will be be played at 6:30 and Karaoke starts at 7:30.

The event is by donation - funds raised will help to build a community FM radio station in Penticton.

Hosted by John "Johnny Cash" Hodson the Old Time Country Show started online in 2013. It features old time country with a mix of local and Canadian music from Penticton's, self proclaimed, favourite red neck. The show is broadcast through the Peach City Community Radio online radio stream.

When Hodson started volunteering he wasn't comfortable with sound equipment or computers. With only a little bit of help he taught himself how to produce his own radio programs using his laptop. Now he creates the Old Time Country Show each week and helps update Peach City Radio's online stream.

"It's a lot of fun playing great music," states Hodson. "It's hard to believe I'm already at 100 episodes. I think anyone would enjoy making programs with Peach City Radio."

"We're really proud of John, he's come a long way since joining Peach City Radio," said Society President Dave Del Rizzo. "I often tell people about John, he's a great example of what someone with a little training, mentorship and perseverance can accomplish. We're glad he's a part of making community radio possible in Penticton."
