Peach City Radio Walks 'A Mile in Her Shoes'
August 24, 2013 by PCR

Peach City Radio was well represented at the recent Walk A Mile in Her Shoes Challenge, organized by S.O.W.I.N.S. and Challenge Penticton.

Walk a Mile is an international movement to raise awareness and dollars for prevention against gender-based violence and related recovery programs. As you can see - this is a playful event and our Peach City Radio board members rose to the challenge! Andrew, Cam, Craig, Tim & Dave found their best pumps and got ready to strut their stuff on Friday August 23rd, 2013 along with many other enthusiastic participants. Not ones to walk quietly, these boys armed themselves with vinyl skirts, brassieres, wigs, pantyhose, high heels and of course - a rolling speaker which kept their fellow walkers motivated to finish the 1 mile course.

A donation was made to SOWINS with our registration, and the boys garnered much attention from participants and observers alike. They were proud to take home the Double Shoe Award for Best Group Costume and are looking forward to outdoing themselves at next year's event.
